Structure of packed tower system

May 12, 2024

Packed towers usually consist of several main parts: tower body, air inlet, air outlet, packing layer and liquid collector.

1. Tower body: The shell of the packed tower is generally made of stainless steel, fiberglass and other materials and has good corrosion resistance.

2. Air inlet and air outlet: The air inlet is located at the lower part of the packed tower and is responsible for inputting the mixed gas into the packing layer; the air outlet is located at the upper part of the packed tower and is used to separate gas and liquid.

3. Filling layer: The filling layer is usually composed of multiple fillers with different pore sizes. The filler materials are generally ceramics, metals, plastics, etc. The filler provides a space with large surface area and good ventilation, which is beneficial to the contact and separation of mixed gas and liquid.

4. Liquid collector: The lower part of the packed tower is equipped with a liquid collector for collecting and discharging the separated liquid.
