1. Why is the shell and tube heat exchanger widely used and specific types?

The reason why the shell-and-tube heat exchanger is widely used is that in this heat exchanger, the wall surface of the tube bundle enclosed in the casing is used as a heat transfer surface for heat transfer, and has a simple structure, a small cost, and a flow cross section. These advantages are wider and easier to clean. Therefore, it can be used under high temperature and high pressure, and can be used in many industrial fields, and is a heat exchanger that is widely used.

 

Shell-and-tube heat exchangers, which can be reclassified, so there are some specific types, such as fixed tube plate type, with expansion joint type, floating head type, U-shaped shell tube type, wave joint type and segmented type, etc. Which one should be chosen depends on the actual situation, the environment of use and the requirements for use.

 

2. Examples of control parameters and types of shell and tube heat exchangers

Shell-and-tube heat exchangers have corresponding control parameters, and among these parameters, there are main control parameters, which are four areas of heating area, hot water flow, heat exchange quantity and heat medium parameters.

 

The specific types of shell-and-tube heat exchangers are as follows:

Fixed tube plate type: The tube plate and the shell at both ends of the tube bundle are integrated into one body, which is relatively simple in structure, but can only be used in heat exchange operation where the temperature difference between the hot and cold fluids is not large and the shell side does not need mechanical cleaning. If the temperature difference is large and the shell side pressure is not very high, a compensation ring can be installed on the housing to reduce thermal stress.

 

Floating head type: The tube sheet at one end of the tube bundle can float freely to eliminate thermal stress, and the tube bundle can be taken out from the housing for easy inspection and mechanical cleaning. In terms of structure, this kind of heat exchanger is more complicated, so it is higher in cost.

U-shell tube type: Each heat exchange tube is U-shaped, and both ends of the heat exchange tube are fixed on the tube sheet. Although the thermal stress can be completely eliminated and the simple structure is eliminated, the tube length is not easy to clean.

 

Eddy current hot film type: It adopts the eddy current hot film heat transfer technology to enhance the heat transfer effect of the heat exchanger through the change of the three-dimensional motion state. In addition, the heat exchanger has good high temperature and high pressure resistance, corrosion resistance and anti-fouling performance, which can improve the performance and use effect of the heat exchanger.
